1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the City of Deerfield Beach,
3 Broward County; extending and enlarging the
4 corporate limits of the City of Deerfield Beach
5 to include specified unincorporated lands
6 within said corporate limits; providing an
7 effective date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. The present corporate limits of the City of
12 Deerfield Beach, Broward County, Florida, are hereby extended
13 and enlarged so as to include, in addition to the territory
14 presently within its corporate limits, those portions of
15 Sections 4, 5, 8, and 9, Township 48 South, Range 42 East,
16 Broward County, Florida, being more particularly described as
17 follows:

19 COMMENCING at the Southeast corner of said
20 Section 4;
21
22 THENCE North 00°20'52" East along the East line
23 of said Section 4, a distance of 266.00 feet;
24
25 THENCE North 89°39'08" West, a distance of
26 129.00 feet to the Southeast corner of that
27 parcel of land described in Ordinance No.
28 1977/028 of the City Commission of the City of
29 Deerfield Beach, Florida;

4 THENCE South 00°07'08" West along said East
5 line, a distance of 438.90 feet to the POINT OF
6 BEGINNING.

8 Lying in Broward County, Florida. Containing
9 84.2 acres, more or less.

11 Section 2. All public roads and the public rights of
12 way associated therewith, lying within the limits of the lands
13 subject to annexation herein, as described in section 1, are
14 transferred from Broward County jurisdiction to the
15 jurisdiction of the annexing municipality, except any county
16 collector roads.
17 Section 3. On the effective date of this act the City
18 of Deerfield Beach shall be responsible for and embodied with
19 all municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes,
20 over territory hereby annexed.
21 Section 4. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed
22 to affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts,
23 whether the same be between Broward County and a third party
24 or between nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in
25 effect prior to the effective date of annexation.
26 Section 5. This act shall take effect October 1, 1999.
