  1                    Senate Resolution No.     

  2         A resolution commending the CitiGroup Center

  3         Tampa for being selected as one of the Top Ten

  4         Development Deals in 1998.

  5

  6         WHEREAS, CitiGroup's expansion with the CitiGroup

  7  Center Tampa adds to its previous major corporate presence in

  8  the Tampa Bay area with two divisions, Worldwide Operations

  9  and Technology and Business Services, and

10         WHEREAS, the CitiGroup Center Tampa expansion resulted

11  in a $250 million capital investment and the creation of more

12  than 1,500 jobs, and

13         WHEREAS, the CitiGroup executives Teala Milton, Mary

14  Alice Taylor, Thomas Jones, and Robert De were instrumental in

15  the CitiGroup Center Tampa expansion, and

16         WHEREAS, CitiGroup has been a valued corporate resident

17  in the Tampa Bay area and the state, and the CitiGroup Center

18  Tampa expansion is tangible evidence of that value, and

19         WHEREAS, the CitiGroup Center Tampa was selected as one

20  of the Top Ten Development Deals in 1998 by Site Selection

21  Magazine and was the only project in this state to receive

22  such an honor, NOW, THEREFORE,

24  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

25

26         That CitiGroup is commended for its contributions to

27  the economic prosperity of the Tampa Bay area with the

28  CitiGroup Center Tampa expansion.

29         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,

30  with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to CitiGroup

31  as a tangible token of the sentiments of the Florida Senate.
