16 and insert:
17 Section 1. Paragraph (z) is added to subsection (4) of
18 section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, 1998 Supplement, to read:
19 320.08056 Specialty license plates.--
20 (4) The following license plate annual use fees shall
21 be collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:
22 (z) United States Marine Corps license plate, $15.
23 Section 2. Subsection (26) is added to section
24 320.08058, Florida Statutes, 1998 Supplement, to read:
25 320.08058 Specialty license plates.--
26 (26) UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS LICENSE PLATES.--
27 (a) The department shall develop a United States
28 Marine Corps license plate as provided in this section. The
29 word "Florida" must appear at the top center of the plate, and
30 the words "First to Fight" must appear at the bottom center of
31 the plate. The United States Marine Corps logo, 3 inches in

1 diameter, must appear on the left side centered top to bottom
2 of the plate in proper colors.
3 (b) The department shall distribute the United States
4 Marine Corps license plate annual use fees in the following
5 manner:
6 1. The first $50,000 collected annually shall be
7 deposited in the State Homes for Veterans Trust Fund and must
8 be used solely for the purpose of constructing, operating, and
9 maintaining domiciliary and nursing homes for veterans subject
10 to the requirements of chapter 216.
11 2. Any additional fees collected annually shall be
12 deposited in the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Inc.,
13 successor to the USMV Tag/Scholarship Fund, Inc., which shall
14 use the fees to fund scholarships and assist Marine Corps
15 Junior ROTC programs of this state. The foundation shall
16 develop a plan to distribute the funds to recipients nominated
17 by residents of the state to receive scholarships, and to the
18 Marine Corps Junior ROTC programs in the state.
19 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 1999.
