14 On page 12, between lines 3 & 4 of the amendment

16 insert: new section
17 Section 12. (1) There is created within the
18 Department of Health a Task Force for the Study of
19 Collaborative Drug Therapy Management. The department shall
20 provide staff support for the task force. The task force shall
21 consist of not more than 10 members nominated by the
22 associations and entities named in this section and appointed
23 by the Secretary of Health. Members of the task force shall
24 not receive compensation, per diem, or reimbursement for
25 travel expenses for service on the task force. Participation
26 in the task force is optional and at the discretion of each
27 identified group or entity. The task force shall include:
28 (a) One representative from each of the following
29 associations:
30 1. Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
31 2. Florida Pharmacy Association.

4 (b) One representative from each of the following
5 entities:
6 1. Department of Health.
7 2. Board of Medicine, which representative must be a
8 member of the board who is licensed under chapter 458, Florida
9 Statutes.
10 3. Board of Osteopathic Medicine, which representative
11 must be a member of the board who is licensed under chapter
12 459, Florida Statutes.
13 4. Board of Pharmacy, which representative must be a
14 member of the board who is licensed under chapter 465, Florida
15 Statutes.
16 5. Agency for Health Care Administration.
17 (2) The task force shall hold its first meeting no
18 later than August 1, 1999, and shall report its findings to
19 the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of
20 Representatives, and the chairs of the applicable legislative
21 committees of substance not later than December 31, 1999. All
22 task force meetings must be held in Tallahassee at the
23 department in order to minimize costs to the state.
24 (3) The task force shall be charged with the
25 responsibility to:
26 (a) Determine the states in which collaborative drug
27 therapy management has been enacted by law or administrative
28 rule and summarize the content of all such laws and rules.
29 (b) Receive testimony from interested parties and
30 identify the extent to which collaborative drug therapy
31 management is currently being practiced in this state and

2 (c) Determine the efficacy of collaborative drug
3 therapy management in improving health care outcomes of
4 patients.
