18 Section 5. Subsections (1), (2), and (3) of section
19 55.10, Florida Statutes, are amended to read:
20 55.10 Judgments, orders, and decrees; lien of all,
21 generally; extension of liens; transfer of liens to other
22 security.--
23 (1) A judgment, order, or decree becomes a lien on
24 real estate in any county when a certified copy of it is
25 recorded in the official records or judgment lien record of
26 the county, whichever is maintained at the time of
27 recordation, and it shall be a lien for a period of 7 years
28 from the date of the recording provided that the judgment,
29 order, or decree contains the address of the person who has a
30 lien as a result of such judgment, order, or decree or a
31 separate affidavit is recorded simultaneously with the

1 judgment, order, or decree stating the address of the person
2 who has a lien as a result of such judgment, order, or decree.
3 A judgment, order, or decree does not become a lien on real
4 estate unless the address of the person who has a lien as a
5 result of such judgment, order, or decree is contained in the
6 judgment, order, or decree or an affidavit with such address
7 is simultaneously recorded with the judgment, order, or
8 decree.
9 (2) The lien provided for in subsection (1) may be
10 extended for an additional period of 7 years by rerecording a
11 certified copy of the judgment, order, or decree within the
12 365-day 90-day period preceding the expiration of the lien
13 provided for in subsection (1) and by simultaneously recording
14 an affidavit with the current address of the person who has a
15 lien as a result of the judgment, order, or decree. The lien
16 will not be extended unless the affidavit with the current
17 address is simultaneously recorded.
18 (3) In the event the lien is extended under subsection
19 (2), the lien of the judgment, order, or decree may be further
20 extended by re-recording a certified copy of it within the
21 365-day 90-day period preceding the expiration of the lien
22 provided for in subsection (2) and by simultaneously recording
23 an affidavit with the current address of the person who has a
24 lien as a result of such judgment, order, or decree. The lien
25 will not be extended unless the affidavit with the current
26 address is recorded.
27 Section 6. Section 55.201, Florida Statutes, is
28 created to read:
29 55.201 Central database of judgment liens on personal
30 property.--The Department of State shall maintain a database
31 of judgment lien records established in accordance with ss.
