  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to state employment; amending

  3         s. 110.205, F.S.; adding employees who are

  4         hired on or after July 1, 1999, in the

  5         managerial/confidential and supervisory

  6         bargaining units organized under ch. 447, F.S.,

  7         to those employees exempted from the Career

  8         Service System; providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12         Section 1.  Paragraph (v) is added to subsection (2) of

13  section 110.205, Florida Statutes, to read:

14         110.205  Career service; exemptions.--

15         (2)  EXEMPT POSITIONS.--The exempt positions which are

16  not covered by this part include the following, provided that

17  no position, except for positions established for a limited

18  period of time pursuant to paragraph (h), shall be exempted if

19  the position reports to a position in the career service:

20         (v)  All state employees who are hired on or after July

21  1, 1999, in the managerial/confidential and supervisory

22  bargaining units organized under chapter 447.

23         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1999.

26                          SENATE SUMMARY

27    Adds employees who are hired on or after July 1, 1999, in
      the managerial/confidential and supervisory bargaining
28    units organized under ch. 447, F.S., to the employees
      exempt from the Career Service System.
