  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the re-creation of the

  3         Hurricane Andrew Disaster Relief Trust Fund

  4         within the Department of Agriculture and

  5         Consumer Services without modification;

  6         re-creating the Hurricane Andrew Disaster

  7         Relief Trust Fund; carrying forward current

  8         balances and continuing current sources and

  9         uses thereof; providing an effective date.

11         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

12  the Hurricane Andrew Disaster Relief Trust Fund, which is

13  otherwise scheduled to be terminated pursuant to

14  constitutional mandate, and

15         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Hurricane

16  Andrew Disaster Relief Trust Fund before its scheduled

17  termination date and has found that it continues to meet an

18  important public purpose, and

19         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

20  policy concerning the Hurricane Andrew Disaster Relief Trust

21  Fund sets adequate parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

22

23  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

24

25         Section 1.  (1)  The Hurricane Andrew Disaster Relief

26  Trust Fund, FLAIR number 42-2-200, which was created within

27  the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and which

28  is to be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of

29  the State Constitution on November 4, 2000, is re-created.

  1         (2)  All current balances of the trust fund are carried

  2  forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund

  3  are continued.

  4         Section 2.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  5  2000.
