  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the re-creation of the

  3         Financial Institutions' Regulatory Trust Fund

  4         without modification; re-creating the Financial

  5         Institutions' Regulatory Trust Fund; carrying

  6         forward current balances and continuing current

  7         sources and uses thereof; providing an

  8         effective date.

10         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

11  the Financial Institutions' Regulatory Trust Fund, which is

12  otherwise scheduled to be terminated pursuant to

13  constitutional mandate, and

14         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Financial

15  Institutions' Regulatory Trust Fund before its scheduled

16  termination date and has found that it continues to meet an

17  important public purpose, and

18         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

19  policy concerning the Financial Institutions' Regulatory Trust

20  Fund sets adequate parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

21

22  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

23

24         Section 1.  (1)  The Financial Institutions' Regulatory

25  Trust Fund within the Department of Banking and Finance, FLAIR

26  number 44-2-275, which was created by section 655.049, Florida

27  Statutes, and which is to be terminated pursuant to Section

28  19(f), Article III of the State Constitution on November 4,

29  2000, is re-created.

  1         (2)  All current balances of the trust fund are carried

  2  forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund

  3  are continued.

  4         Section 2.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  5  2000.
