1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the
3 Pari-mutuel Wagering Trust Fund within the
4 Department of Business and Professional
5 Regulation without modification; carrying
6 forward current balances and continuing current
7 sources and uses thereof; providing an
8 effective date.

10 WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of
11 the Pari-mutuel Wagering Trust Fund within the Department of
12 Business and Professional Regulation, which is otherwise
13 scheduled to be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate,
14 and
15 WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Pari-mutuel
16 Wagering Trust Fund within the Department of Business and
17 Professional Regulation before its scheduled termination date
18 and has found that it continues to meet an important public
19 purpose, and
20 WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public
21 policy concerning the Pari-mutuel Wagering Trust Fund within
22 the Department of Business and Professional Regulation sets
23 adequate parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,
24
25 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

27 Section 1. (1) The Pari-mutuel Wagering Trust Fund
28 within the Department of Business and Professional Regulation,
29 FLAIR number 79-2-520, which was created by section 550.135,
30 Florida Statutes, and which is to be terminated pursuant to

1 Section 19(f), Article III of the State Constitution on
2 November 4, 2000, is re-created.
3 (2) All current balances of the trust fund are carried
4 forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund
5 are continued.
6 Section 2. This act shall take effect November 4,
7 2000.
