13         Amendment (with title amendment) 

14  Remove from the bill:  Everything after the enacting clause

16  and insert in lieu thereof:

17         Section 1.  The Board of Pharmacy shall conduct a study

18  on the issue of licensure by endorsement for pharmacists in

19  this state. In conducting its study, the board shall review

20  issues including, but not limited to, the following:  impacts

21  on employment of pharmacists currently practicing in this

22  state; impacts on the colleges of pharmacy located in this

23  state, including employment opportunities for currently

24  enrolled students; and differences in the training, education,

25  and continuing education of pharmacists licensed outside this

26  state. The board shall seek input from all interested parties,

27  including, but not limited to, currently licensed pharmacists,

28  owners of pharmacies, manufacturers, wholesalers, and any

29  other person involved in the distribution of pharmaceutical

30  drugs in this state. Staffing for the study and any costs

31  involved shall be borne by the board. The board shall submit a

 1  report of its findings and recommendations by February 15,

 2  2000, to the Governor, the President of the Senate, and the

 3  Speaker of the House of Representatives.

 4         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

 5  law.

15         An act relating to pharmacy practice; requiring

16         the Board of Pharmacy to conduct a study on the

17         issue of licensure by endorsement for

18         pharmacists in this state; requiring a report;

19         providing an effective date.
