  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the re-creation of the

  3         University of Florida Agricultural Experiment

  4         Station Federal Grant Trust Fund without

  5         modification; re-creating the University of

  6         Florida Agricultural Experiment Station Federal

  7         Grant Trust Fund; carrying forward current

  8         balances and continuing current sources and

  9         uses thereof; providing an effective date.

11         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

12  the University of Florida Agricultural Experiment Station

13  Federal Grant Trust Fund, which is otherwise scheduled to be

14  terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate, and

15         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the University of

16  Florida Agricultural Experiment Station Federal Grant Trust

17  Fund before its scheduled termination date and has found that

18  it continues to meet an important public purpose, and

19         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

20  policy concerning the University of Florida Agricultural

21  Experiment Station Federal Grant Trust Fund sets adequate

22  parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

24  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

25

26         Section 1.  (1)  The University of Florida Agricultural

27  Experiment Station Federal Grant Trust Fund, FLAIR number

28  49-2-207, which was created within the Department of Education

29  and which is to be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f),

30  Article III of the State Constitution on November 4, 2000, is

31  re-created.

  1         (2)  All current balances of the trust fund are carried

  2  forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund

  3  are continued.

  4         Section 2.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  5  2000.
