  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the re-creation of the

  3         University of South Florida Medical Center

  4         Student Fee Trust Fund without modification;

  5         re-creating the University of South Florida

  6         Medical Center Student Fee Trust Fund; carrying

  7         forward current balances and continuing current

  8         sources and uses thereof; providing an

  9         effective date.

11         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

12  the University of South Florida Medical Center Student Fee

13  Trust Fund, which is otherwise scheduled to be terminated

14  pursuant to constitutional mandate, and

15         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the University of

16  South Florida Medical Center Student Fee Trust Fund before its

17  scheduled termination date and has found that it continues to

18  meet an important public purpose, and

19         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

20  policy concerning the University of South Florida Medical

21  Center Student Fee Trust Fund sets adequate parameters for its

22  use, NOW, THEREFORE,

24  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

25

26         Section 1.  (1)  The University of South Florida

27  Medical Center Student Fee Trust Fund, FLAIR number 49-2-406,

28  which was created within the Department of Education and which

29  is to be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of

30  the State Constitution on November 4, 2000, is re-created.

  1         (2)  All current balances of the trust fund are carried

  2  forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund

  3  are continued.

  4         Section 2.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  5  2000.
