  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act re-creating the Solid Waste Management

  3         Trust Fund of the Department of Environmental

  4         Protection without modification; carrying

  5         forward current balances and continuing current

  6         uses thereof; providing an effective date.

  7

  8         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

  9  the Solid Waste Management Trust Fund, which is otherwise

10  scheduled to be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate,

11  and

12         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Solid Waste

13  Management Trust Fund before its scheduled termination date

14  and has found that it continues to meet an important public

15  purpose, and

16         WHEREAS, the Legislature finds that the existing public

17  policy concerning the Solid Waste Management Trust Fund sets

18  adequate parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

19

20  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

21

22         Section 1.  (1)  The Solid Waste Management Trust Fund

23  within the Department of Environmental Protection, FLAIR

24  number 37-2-644, which is to be terminated pursuant to Section

25  19(f), Article III of the State Constitution on November 4,

26  2000, is re-created.

27         (2)  All current balances of the trust fund are carried

28  forward and uses of the trust fund are continued.

29         Section 2.  This act shall take effect November 4,

30  2000.
