1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act re-creating the Save the Manatee Trust
3 Fund of the Department of Environmental
4 Protection without modification; carrying
5 forward current balances and continuing current
6 sources and uses thereof; providing an
7 effective date.

9 WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of
10 the Save the Manatee Trust Fund, which is otherwise scheduled
11 to be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate, and
12 WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Save the
13 Manatee Trust Fund before its scheduled termination date and
14 has found that it continues to meet an important public
15 purpose, and
16 WHEREAS, the Legislature finds that the existing public
17 policy concerning the Save the Manatee Trust Fund sets
18 adequate parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,
19
20 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

22 Section 1. (1) The Save the Manatee Trust Fund within
23 the Department of Environmental Protection, FLAIR number
24 37-2-611, which is to be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f),
25 Article III of the State Constitution on November 4, 2000, is
26 re-created.
27 (2) All current balances of the trust fund are carried
28 forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund
29 are continued.
30 Section 2. This act shall take effect November 4,
31 2000.
