  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to historical resources;

  3         amending s. 267.081, F.S., relating to

  4         publications of the Division of Historical

  5         Resources of the Department of State; providing

  6         that moneys received from the sale of

  7         publications by the division may be held in the

  8         operating trust fund of the division or in a

  9         specified depository account; providing an

10         effective date.

12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14         Section 1.  Section 267.081, Florida Statutes, is

15  amended to read:

16         267.081  Publications.--

17         (1)  It is the duty of the division to:

18         (a)(1)  Promote and encourage the writing of Florida

19  history.

20         (b)(2)  Collect, edit, publish, and print pamphlets,

21  papers, manuscripts, documents, books, monographs, and other

22  materials relating to Florida history.  The division may

23  establish a reasonable charge for such publications.

24         (c)(3)  Cooperate with and coordinate research and

25  publication activities of other agencies, organizations,

26  historical commissions and societies, corporations, and

27  individuals, which relate to historical matters.

28         (2)  Any moneys received from the sale of publications

29  by the division may be held in the operating trust fund of the

30  division or in a separate depository account in the name of a

31  citizen support organization formed pursuant to s. 267.17 and

  1  subject to the provision of a letter of agreement with the

  2  division.

  3         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

  4  law.

      Provides that moneys received from the sale of
  9    publications by the Division of Historical Resources of
      the Department of State may be held in the operating
10    trust fund of the division or in a separate depository
      account in the name of a citizen support organization
11    formed pursuant to s. 267.17, F.S., and subject to the
      provision of a letter of agreement with the division.
