13         Amendment 

14         On page 19, lines 1 through 15,

15  remove from the bill:  all of said lines

17  and insert in lieu thereof:

18         1.  Timely notify the parent or guardian of the student

19  as soon as such designation is made of all options available

20  pursuant to this section;

21         2.  Offer that student's parent or guardian an

22  opportunity to enroll the student in the public school within

23  the district closest to the student's residence that has been

24  designated by the state pursuant to s. 229.67 as a school

25  performing higher than that in which the student is currently

26  enrolled or to which the student has been assigned, but not

27  less than performance grade category "C."  The parent or

28  guardian is not required to accept this offer in lieu of

29  requesting a state opportunity scholarship to a private

30  school.  The opportunity to continue attending a higher

31  performing public school shall remain in force until the

 2         3.  Timely notify the parent or guardian of the student
