14         On page 18, lines 18 through 25,

15  remove from the bill:  all of said lines

17  and insert in lieu thereof:  The opportunity to continue

18  attending a private school shall require reapplication prior

19  to the school year.  The parent or guardian of each

20  opportunity scholarship recipient shall submit a written

21  request to their district school board prior to May 1 for the

22  upcoming school year.  If the student's assigned public school

23  has improved to a performance grade category of "C" or higher,

24  the application shall be denied.  Upon denial of the

25  scholarship, the school district shall immediately notify the

26  parent or guardian of the denial due to the improved assigned

27  public school performance and shall inform the parent or

28  guardian of other public school options.
