18         Section 2.  Section 229.0537, Florida Statutes, is

19  amended to read:

20         229.0537  Pilot Opportunity Scholarship Program.--

21         (1)  It is the intent of the Legislature to allow a

22  pilot opportunity scholarship program in Orange County for low

23  income students. A low income student is defined as a student

24  whose parent or guardian earns 175% of the federal poverty

25  level.  Any student that fits this criteria would be eligible

26  for an opportunity scholarship that is equivalent to the

27  student base allocation in Florida Education Finance Program.
