11  Senators Hargrett, Diaz-Balart, Holzendorf, Klein, Meek,

12  Gutman, Forman, Dawson-White, Casas, Jones, Kurth, Rossin, and

13  Campbell moved the following amendment:

14

15         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

16         On page 2 between lines 2 and 3,

17

18  insert:

19         Section 2.  Effective September 1, 1999, the College of

20  Arts and Sciences at the Florida State University is

21  abolished. The College of Arts and Sciences at the Florida

22  Agricultural and Mechanical University shall be reconstituted

23  as a joint program to serve students at both institutions.

24  However, the joint program shall be administered by the

25  Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.

26         (1)  Employees of the College of Arts and Sciences at

27  the Florida State University may be considered for

28  reemployment at the reconstituted program. Employees who are

29  not selected for reemployment shall be considered laid off

30  under the provisions of Article 13 of the State University

31  System's Collective Bargaining Agreement.

 1         (2)  Real property and facilities owned by the Florida

 2  State University and used exclusively to conduct programs

 3  administered by the College of Arts and Sciences shall be

 4  retained by the Florida State University but must be made

 5  available to the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical

 6  University for the continuation of services for students

 7  enrolled in either university.

13  And the title is amended as follows:

14         On page 1, line 9, after the semicolon

15

16  insert:

17         abolishing the College of Arts and Sciences at

18         the Florida State University; authorizing

19         administration of a joint program to be

20         established at the Florida Agricultural and

21         Mechanical University; establishing provisions

22         for the employees, real property, and

23         facilities used in the program at the Florida

24         State University;
