19 proceeding.
20 (2) In any civil action which the court determines is
21 likely to exceed 5 days, the court shall instruct that the
22 jurors may take notes regarding the evidence and keep the
23 notes to refresh their memory and to use during recesses and
24 deliberations. The court may provide materials suitable for
25 this purpose. The court should emphasize the confidentiality
26 of the notes. After the jury has rendered its verdict, any
27 notes shall be collected by the bailiff or clerk who shall
28 promptly destroy them.
