15 On page 2, line 13, through page 3, line 2, delete
16 those lines

18 and insert:
19 (4) Of moneys provided to the Department of Community
20 Affairs, 10 percent shall be allocated to the Operations and
21 Maintenance Trust Fund in the general office of the Board of
22 Regents, to be used by the Type I Center within the State
23 University System dedicated to hurricane research, to support
24 programs of research and development relating to hurricane
25 loss reduction devices and techniques for residences and
26 mobile homes and relating to the development of credible data
27 on potential loss reductions. The State University System
28 shall consult with the Department of Community Affairs and
29 assist the department with the report required under
30 subsection (7).
31 (5) The Department of Community Affairs shall develop

1 the programs in consultation with an advisory council
2 appointed by the secretary consisting of a representative of
3 the Department of Insurance, a representative of home
4 builders, a representative of insurance companies, a
5 representative of the Federation of Mobile Home Owners, a
6 representative of the Florida Association of Counties, and a
7 representative of the Florida Manufactured Housing Association
8 who is a mobile home manufacturer or supplier.
9 (6) Moneys provided to the Department of Community
10 Affairs under this section are intended to supplement other
11 funding sources of the Department of Community Affairs and may
12 not supplant other funding sources of the Department of
13 Community Affairs.
14 (7) On January 1st of 2001 and 2002, the Department of
15 Community Affairs shall provide a full report and accounting
16 of activities under this section and an evaluation of such
17 activities to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the
18 President of the Senate, and the Majority and Minority Leaders
19 of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
20 (8) This section is repealed June 30, 2002.
