11  Senator Sullivan moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment 

14         On page 4, line 8, after the period,

15

16  insert:  The delivery mechanisms should involve the expertise

17  of science centers, and the Alliance for Improving Mathematics

18  and Science and school boards are encouraged to arrange

19  participation by science centers in the planning and delivery

20  of the program, including participation in charter agreements,

21  where appropriate. As used in this subsection, a science

22  center means a non-profit organization, recognized under

23  section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, that is a full

24  member of the Association of Science and Technology Centers,

25  is accredited by the American Association of Museums, and has

26  had at least 5 years experience providing professional

27  development and support services to teachers throughout the

28  state.
