  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution proclaiming March 30, 1999, "Child

  3         Nutrition Day" in Florida.

  4

  5         WHEREAS, the Florida School Food Service Association is

  6  holding its annual Legislative Action Conference on March

  7  29-30, 1999, and

  8         WHEREAS, the over 7,000 members of the Florida School

  9  Food Service Association work through the National School

10  Lunch and Breakfast Programs to play a vital role in shaping

11  the health and nutrition patterns of Florida's children, and

12         WHEREAS, the National School Lunch and Breakfast

13  Programs have supported and promoted the implementation of

14  nutrition principles outlined in the Dietary Guidelines of

15  Americans, and

16         WHEREAS, the National School Lunch and Breakfast

17  Programs promote the increased consumption of high-quality,

18  nutritious agricultural products from Florida, and

19         WHEREAS, the National School Lunch and Breakfast

20  Programs serve Florida's children by providing meals that

21  enhance their readiness to learn and to succeed in school,

22  NOW, THEREFORE,

24  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

25  Florida:

27         That the House of Representatives pauses in its

28  deliberations to proclaim March 30, 1999, "Child Nutrition

29  Day" in Florida and to recognize and applaud the school food

30  service professionals throughout the state for their

31  dedication and hard work.
