  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution acknowledging the 175th Jubilee of

  3         the Sisters of Bon Secours and honoring Bon

  4         Secours Maria Manor Nursing Home and

  5         Rehabilitation Center.

  7         WHEREAS, since its inception in 1824 during the

  8  aftermath of the French Revolution, the Sisters of Bon Secours

  9  has faithfully carried out its mission of compassionate care

10  for the sick and help for those in need, and

11         WHEREAS, in its 175 years of existence, the Sisters of

12  Bon Secours has extended its delivery of health care services

13  beyond France and today has provinces in Ireland, Great

14  Britain, the United States, Peru, and Ecuador, and

15         WHEREAS, since bringing its ministry to the United

16  States in 1881, the Sisters of Bon Secours continues to offer

17  love, help, and hope through a variety of health and healing

18  professions in hospitals, clinics, home health agencies,

19  hospices, and nursing homes, and

20         WHEREAS, in this state, the Sisters of Bon Secours is

21  the sponsoring organization for Bon Secours Maria Manor

22  Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in St. Petersburg, which has

23  been designated "Long-Term Facility of the Year" by the

24  Commission on Aging with Dignity, and

25         WHEREAS, on January 24, 1999, the Sisters of Bon

26  Secours launched a year-long celebration of its 175th Jubilee,

27  NOW, THEREFORE,

29  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

30  Florida:

  1         That the House of Representatives hereby pauses in its

  2  deliberations to recognize the 175th Jubilee of the Sisters of

  3  Bon Secours and to honor Bon Secours Maria Manor Nursing and

  4  Rehabilitation Center for its commitment to the residents of

  5  this state and on the occasion of its designation as

  6  "Long-Term Facility of the Year."

  7         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution

  8  be presented to Bon Secours Maria Manor Nursing and

  9  Rehabilitation Center as a tangible token of the sentiments

10  expressed herein.
