  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution honoring Tanisha Rickman for her

  3         accomplishments as a member of the University

  4         of West Florida women's basketball team.

  5

  6         WHEREAS, Tanisha Rickman is a senior guard on the

  7  University of West Florida women's basketball team, and

  8         WHEREAS, during the 1997-1998 basketball season,

  9  Tanisha Rickman scored an average of 22.6 points per game, the

10  second highest average in University of West Florida history,

11  and

12         WHEREAS, Tanisha Rickman was named the Gulf South

13  Conference East Division "1997-1998 Player of the Year," and

14         WHEREAS, Tanisha Rickman was named the NCAA Division II

15  South Regional "1997-1998 Player of the Year," and

16         WHEREAS, Tanisha Rickman was selected for the 1997-1998

17  All-American NCAA Division II Third Team, and

18         WHEREAS, during the 1998-1999 basketball season,

19  Tanisha Rickman scored an average of 19.4 points per game, the

20  second highest average in the Gulf South Conference, and

21         WHEREAS, Tanisha Rickman is the fastest basketball

22  player, male or female, to reach 1,000 points in University of

23  West Florida history, and

24         WHEREAS, as a hard worker both in the classroom and on

25  the court, Tanisha Rickman has been an exemplary

26  representative of the University of West Florida, NOW,

27  THEREFORE,

29  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

30  Florida:

  1         That the House of Representatives of the State of

  2  Florida hereby pauses in its deliberations to honor Tanisha

  3  Rickman for her outstanding accomplishments as a member of the

  4  University of West Florida women's basketball team.

  5         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution

  6  be presented to Tanisha Rickman as a tangible token of the

  7  sentiments expressed herein.
