  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution in recognition of Lieutenant

  3         Colonel Billy K. Knight.

  4

  5         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Billy K. Knight, a resident

  6  of Fort Walton Beach, is currently the System Program Director

  7  of the Range Threat Systems Division at the Sacramento Air

  8  Logistics Center at McClellan Air Force Base in California,

  9  and

10         WHEREAS, on April 1, 1999, Lieutenant Colonel Billy K.

11  Knight will retire from active duty in the United States Air

12  Force, after a 24-year career of distinguished military

13  service, and

14         WHEREAS, born in Suffolk, Virginia, Billy Knight was

15  educated at the University of Virginia, where he received his

16  Bachelor's degree, and at Central Michigan University, where

17  he received his Master's degree, and

18         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Knight began his military

19  career in 1975, and during his 24 years of service to the

20  nation has received the Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Oak

21  Leaf Clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal with 1 Oak

22  Leaf Cluster, the Combat Readiness Medal with 1 Oak Leaf

23  Cluster, and the National Defense Service Medal, and

24         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Billy K. Knight is

25  well-liked and deeply respected by the servicemen and

26  servicewomen with whom he serves, and also takes great pride

27  in being a Floridian, and

28         WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate that on the

29  occasion of his retirement from active military service, the

30  Florida House of Representatives recognize Lieutenant Colonel

  4  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

  5  Florida:

  7         That the House of Representatives of the State of

  8  Florida hereby recognizes Lieutenant Colonel Billy K. Knight

  9  for his distinguished service to the nation as an officer in

10  the United States Air Force on this, the occasion of his

11  retirement from active military service.

12         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution

13  be presented to Lieutenant Colonel Billy K. Knight as a

14  tangible token of the sentiments expressed herein.
