1 House Resolution
2 A resolution commending Sandy Walker for her
3 accomplishments as publisher of The Gospel
4 Truth Newspaper.

6 WHEREAS, Sandy Walker, publisher of The Gospel Truth
7 Newspaper, has developed a form of media committed to focusing
8 on what is good in the African American community by covering
9 only positive news and information with particular emphasis on
10 serving as a resource to the church community, and
11 WHEREAS, because of her belief that there are too few
12 communications resources in the African-American community,
13 her vision has been to develop a number of state and national
14 publications highlighting African American achievements, and
15 WHEREAS, in addition to publishing The Gospel Truth,
16 Sandy Walker served for five years as Chief of Staff to Dade
17 County Commissioner Dennis C. Moss, and
18 WHEREAS, Ms. Walker is married and has two children,
19 both of whom work on her newspaper, with her son, Jamille,
20 serving as Managing Editor and her daughter, Summer, as Youth
21 Editor, and
22 WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate that the House
23 of Representatives take time out to commend Sandy Walker for
24 her many accomplishments, NOW, THEREFORE,

26 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
27 Florida:

29 That the House of Representatives of the State of
30 Florida hereby commends Sandy Walker for her accomplishments
31 as publisher of The Gospel Truth Newspaper and wishes her well

1 in her continuing efforts to provide positive news and

3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
4 be presented to Sandy Walker, her husband, Robert Walker, her
5 son, Jamille, and her daughter, Summer, as a tangible token of
6 the sentiments expressed herein.
