  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to persons sentenced to death;

  3         providing that a person sentenced to death may

  4         not marry; authorizing the Department of

  5         Corrections to adopt rules implementing the

  6         prohibition with respect to inmates in the

  7         custody of the department; providing an

  8         effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12         Section 1.  Certain marriages prohibited.--A person who

13  is under a sentence of death in this state may not marry. The

14  Department of Corrections may adopt rules to implement this

15  section with respect to inmates in the custody of the

16  department.

17         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1999.
