  2         An act relating to the Pinellas Suncoast

  3         Transit Authority; clarifying the status of the

  4         Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority as an

  5         independent special district; amending chapter

  6         70-907, Laws of Florida, as amended; providing

  7         an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10

11         Section 1.  Subsection (1) of section 2 of chapter

12  70-907, Laws of Florida, is amended to read:

13         Section 2.  Definitions.  As used in this law and

14  unless the content clearly indicates otherwise:

15         (1)  "Authority" means the body politic and corporate,

16  an independent special district an agency of the county,

17  created by this part.

18         Section 2.  Subsection (1) of section 3 of chapter

19  70-907, Laws of Florida, as amended by section 1 of chapter

20  82-368, Laws of Florida, is amended to read:

21         Section 3.  Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority.

22         (1)  There is hereby created and established a body

23  politic and corporate, an independent special district an

24  agency of the county, to be known as the Pinellas Suncoast

25  Transit Authority, hereinafter referred to as "authority."

26         Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

27  law.
