14 On page 3, between lines 2 and 3,

16 insert:
17 Section 4. Section 316.2126, Florida Statutes, is
18 amended to read:
19 316.2126 Use of golf/utility golf carts by certain
20 municipalities.--In addition to the powers granted by ss.
21 316.212 and 316.2125, municipalities older than 400 years old
22 are hereby authorized to utilize golf/utility golf carts, as
23 defined in s. 320.01, upon any state, county, or municipal
24 roads located within the corporate limits of such
25 municipalities, subject to the following conditions:
26 (1) Golf/utility Golf carts operated beyond the
27 authority granted in ss. 316.212 and 316.2125 may only be
28 operated by municipal employees for municipal purposes,
29 including, but not limited to, police patrol, traffic
30 enforcement, and inspection of public facilities.
31 (2) In addition to the safety equipment required in s.

1 316.212(6), such golf/utility golf carts must be equipped with
2 sufficient lighting and turn signal equipment.
3 (3) The golf/utility golf carts may only be operated
4 on state roads that have a posted speed limit of 30 miles per
5 hour or less.
6 Section 5. Section 320.105, Florida Statutes, is
7 amended to read:
8 320.105 Golf/utility Golf carts;
9 exemption.--Golf/utility Golf carts, as defined in s. 320.01,
10 when operated in accordance with s. 316.212 or s. 316.2126,
11 are exempt from provisions of this chapter which require the
12 registration of vehicles or the display of license plates.
13 Section 6. Paragraph (e) of subsection (1) of section
14 322.04, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
15 322.04 Persons exempt from obtaining driver's
16 license.--
17 (1) The following persons are exempt from obtaining a
18 driver's license:
19 (e) Any person operating a golf/utility golf cart, as
20 defined in s. 320.01, which is operated in accordance with the
21 provisions of s. 316.212.
22 Section 7. Paragraph (c) of subsection (4) of section
23 325.203, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
24 325.203 Motor vehicles subject to annual inspection;
25 exemptions.--
26 (4) The following motor vehicles are not subject to
27 inspection:
28 (c) Golf/utility Golf carts, as defined in s. 320.01.
