  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to motor and other fuel taxes;

  3         amending s. 206.86, F.S.; amending the

  4         definition of the term "local government user

  5         of diesel fuel" to include certain fire control

  6         districts; allowing such districts to be

  7         licensed to use untaxed diesel fuel in motor

  8         vehicles; providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12         Section 1.  Subsection (11) of section 206.86, Florida

13  Statutes, is amended to read:

14         206.86  Definitions.--As used in this part:

15         (11)  "Local government user of diesel fuel" means any

16  county, municipality, special fire control district authorized

17  under chapter 191 or created by special act of the

18  Legislature, or school district licensed by the department to

19  use untaxed diesel fuel in motor vehicles.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2000.

24    Includes special fire control districts authorized under
      ch. 191, F.S., or created by special act of the
25    Legislature in the definition of the term "local
      government user of diesel fuel," thereby allowing such
