  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to Islamorada, Village of

  3         Islands, Monroe County; authorizing the village

  4         to exercise its police powers and jurisdiction

  5         extending 1,200 feet into the tidal waters

  6         adjacent to its established corporate limits;

  7         providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Islamorada, Village of Islands, Monroe

12  County, is authorized to exercise its police powers and

13  jurisdiction 1,200 feet into the tidal waters adjacent to its

14  established corporate limits; however, the exercise of such

15  police powers and jurisdiction beyond the corporate limits of

16  the village shall extend only to the abatement of nuisances,

17  the enforcement of sanitary laws and regulations, the

18  regulation of zoning, and the suppression of crime.

19         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

20  law.
