14 On page 47, lines 16-30, delete those lines

16 and insert:
17 (3) The board shall require a demonstration of
18 continuing professional competency of engineers as a condition
19 of license renewal or relicensure. Every licensee must
20 complete 4 professional development hours, for each year of
21 the license renewal period. For each renewal period for such
22 continuing education, 4 hours shall relate to this chapter and
23 the rules adopted under this chapter and the remaining 4 hours
24 hours shall relate to the licensee's area of practice. The
25 board shall adopt rules that are consistent with the
26 guidelines of the National Council of Examiners for
27 Engineering and Surveying for multijurisdictional licensees
28 for the purpose of avoiding proprietary continuing
29 professional competency requirements and shall allow
30 nonclassroom hours to be credited. The board may, by rule,
31 exempt from continuing professional competency requirements
