12 amendment:

15 On page 8, between lines 23 & 24,

17 insert:
18 Section 2. (1) The State Board of Education shall
19 adopt by rule uniform policies and procedures to be
20 implemented if a student athlete is arrested for a crime. The
21 uniform procedures shall apply to each institution in the
22 State University System, each state community college, and any
23 other institution of higher education that receives state
24 funds. The uniform policies and procedures must be included
25 in the institution's handbook, manual, or other similar
26 document regularly provided to faculty and students.
27 (2) As used in this section, the term "student athlete"
28 means a student who participates in intercollegiate athletics
29 or who has informed the institution in writing of the
30 student's intent to participate in intercollegiate athletics.
