  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Florida Healthy Kids

  3         Corporation; eliminating the local-match

  4         requirement under the Healthy Kids Corporation

  5         under specified conditions; allowing voluntary

  6         contributions; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10         Section 1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of section

11  624.91, Florida Statutes, local-matching funds shall not be

12  required by the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation, provided

13  that funds are specifically appropriated as part of the

14  General Appropriations Act to replace the local-match

15  contributions to the Florida Healthy Kids program. The Florida

16  Healthy Kids Corporation may, however, accept voluntary

17  contributions as matching funds to provide coverage to

18  additional children.

19         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

20  law.

22          STATEMENT OF SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES CONTAINED IN
                       COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR
23                         Senate Bill 1062

25  The committee Substitute for Senate Bill 1062 prohibits the
    Florida Healthy Kids Corporation from requiring local matching
26  funds provided funds are specifically appropriated as part of
    the General Appropriations Act to replace local match. The
27  bill allows the corporation to accept voluntary contributions
    to provide coverage to additional children.
