14         On page 1, line 26, of the bill

16  insert:

18         Section 1.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law

19  to the contrary, local authorities, with respect to streets

20  and highways under their jurisdiction, may plan, design,

21  construct, install, or maintain traffic calming techniques,

22  including, but not limited to, speed bumps, speed humps, speed

23  tables, roundabouts, or other pavement designs or undulations.

24  Any such traffic calming technique may only be employed after

25  a traffic engineering study has been completed which

26  determines that the technique would conform to engineering

27  safety standards.
