13         Amendment to Amendment (740179) (with title amendment) 

14         On page 1, between lines 18 and 19,

16  insert:

17         Section 2.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law

18  to the contrary, local authorities, with respect to streets

19  and highways under their jurisdiction, may plan, design,

20  construct, install, or maintain traffic calming techniques,

21  including, but not limited to, speed bumps, speed humps, speed

22  tables, roundabouts, or other pavement designs or undulations.

23  Any such traffic calming technique may only be employed after

24  a traffic engineering study has been completed which

25  determines that the technique would conform to engineering

26  safety standards.
