11  The Committee on Health & Human Services Appropriations

12  offered the following:

14         Amendment to Amendment (873871) (with title amendment) 

15         On page 2, lines 18-23,

16  remove from the amendment:  all of said lines

17

18  and insert in lieu thereof:  (4)  The sum of $600,000 is

19  appropriated from the Ecosystem Management and Restoration

20  Trust Fund in the Department of Environmental Protection,

21  Division of Water Resource Management, Beach Management

22  Program, for Fiscal year 2000-2001.  These funds shall be

23  transferred to the Department of Health.  The sum of $200,000

24  is appropriated from the County Health Department Trust Fund

25  in the Department of Health to perform the first year of a

26  3-year study to determine the water quality at beaches

27  throughout the state.  The study will be performed in all

28  counties that have public-acess saltwater and brackishwater

29  beaches.
