14 On page 14, line 2, before the period

16 insert: and the Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims.
17 The Department of Insurance, in consultation with the
18 Department of Labor and Employment Security, shall determine
19 the number of positions needed for administrative support of
20 the programs within the Division of Workers' Compensation and
21 the Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims as transferred
22 to the Department of Insurance. The number of administrative
23 support positions that the Department of Insurance determines
24 are needed shall not exceed the number of administrative
25 support positions that prior to the transfer were authorized
26 to the Department of Labor and Employment Security for this
27 purpose. Upon transfer of the Division of Workers'
28 Compensation and the Office of the Judges of Compensation
29 Claims, the number of required administrative support
30 positions as determined by the Department of Insurance shall
31 be authorized within the Department of Insurance. The

Amendment No.
1 Department of Insurance may transfer and reassign positions as
2 deemed necessary to effectively integrate the activities of
3 the Division of Workers' Compensation. Appointments to
4 time-limited positions under this act and authorized positions
5 under this section may be made without regard to the
6 provisions of 60K-3, 4 and 17, Florida Administrative Code.
7 Notwithstanding the provisions of section 216.181(8), Florida
8 Statutes, the Department of Insurance is authorized, during
9 Fiscal Year 2000-2001, to exceed the approved salary in the
10 budget entities affected by this act.
