  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         Child Care and Development Block Grant Trust

  4         Fund within the Department of Children and

  5         Family Services; carrying forward current

  6         balances and continuing current sources and

  7         uses thereof; providing an effective date.

  8

  9         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

10  the Child Care and Development Block Grant Trust Fund within

11  the Department of Children and Family Services, which is

12  otherwise scheduled to be terminated pursuant to

13  constitutional mandate, and

14         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the trust fund

15  before its scheduled termination date and has found that it

16  continues to meet an important public purpose, and

17         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

18  policy concerning the trust fund sets adequate parameters for

19  its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

21  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

22

23         Section 1.  (1)  The Child Care and Development Block

24  Grant Trust Fund within the Department of Children and Family

25  Services, FLAIR number 60-2-098, which is to be terminated

26  pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of the State

27  Constitution on November 4, 2000, is re-created.

28         (2)  All current balances of the trust fund are carried

29  forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund

30  are continued.

  1         Section 2.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  2  2000.
