  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act prohibiting certain contracts to house

  3         out-of-state inmates without specific

  4         authorization by law; providing an effective

  5         date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8

  9         Section 1.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law,

10  a municipality, county, state agency, or private vendor

11  operating a correctional facility located in the state may not

12  contract with any municipality, county, state agency, or

13  private vendor outside the state to house out-of-state inmates

14  unless specifically authorized by law.

15         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

16  law.

19                          SENATE SUMMARY

20    Prohibits local governments, state agencies, and private
      vendors that operate correctional facilities in this
21    state from contracting to house out-of-state inmates
      unless specifically authorized by law.
