  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         Florida World War II Veterans Memorial Matching

  4         Trust Fund within the Department of Veterans'

  5         Affairs without modification; carrying forward

  6         current balances and continuing current sources

  7         and uses thereof; repealing s. 2, ch. 99-161,

  8         Laws of Florida, which provides for the future

  9         termination and review of the trust fund;

10         providing an effective date.

12         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

13  the Florida World War II Veterans Memorial Matching Trust Fund

14  within the Department of Veterans' Affairs, which is otherwise

15  scheduled to be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate,

16  and

17         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the trust fund

18  before its scheduled termination date and has found that it

19  continues to meet an important public purpose, and

20         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

21  policy concerning the trust fund sets adequate parameters for

22  its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

24  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

25

26         Section 1.  (1)  The Florida World War II Veterans

27  Memorial Matching Trust Fund within the Department of

28  Veterans' Affairs, FLAIR number 50-2-755, which is to be

29  terminated pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of the State

30  Constitution on July 1, 2003, is re-created.

  1         (2)  All current balances of the trust fund are carried

  2  forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund

  3  are continued.

  4         Section 2.  Section 2 of chapter 99-161, Laws of

  5  Florida, is repealed.

  6         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  7  2000.
