  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to warehouse receipts; amending

  3         s. 671.201, F.S.; revising the definition of

  4         warehouse receipt to include electronic

  5         notification; providing an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8

  9         Section 1.  Subsection (45) of section 671.201, Florida

10  Statutes, is amended to read:

11         671.201  General definitions.--Subject to additional

12  definitions contained in the subsequent chapters of this code

13  which are applicable to specific chapters or parts thereof,

14  and unless the context otherwise requires, in this code:

15         (45)  "Warehouse receipt" means a written receipt or an

16  electronic notification of receipt issued by a person engaged

17  in the business of storing goods for hire.

18         Section 2.  This act shall take effect October 1, 2000.
