14 Remove from the bill: Everything after the enacting clause

16 and insert in lieu thereof:
17 Section 1. This act shall be known as the "Florida
18 Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Act of 2000."
19 Section 2. Subsection (8) is added to section 409.904,
20 Florida Statutes, to read:
21 409.904 Optional payments for eligible persons.--The
22 agency may make payments for medical assistance and related
23 services on behalf of the following persons who are determined
24 to be eligible subject to the income, assets, and categorical
25 eligibility tests set forth in federal and state law. Payment
26 on behalf of these Medicaid eligible persons is subject to the
27 availability of moneys and any limitations established by the
28 General Appropriations Act or chapter 216.
29 (8) Subject to specific federal authorization, a
30 person who, but for earnings in excess of the limit
31 established under s. 1905(q)(2)(B) of the Social Security Act,

1 would be considered for receiving supplemental security
2 income, who is at least 16 but less than 65 years of age, and
3 whose assets, resources, and earned or unearned income, or
4 both, do not exceed 250 percent of the most current federal
5 poverty level. Such persons may be eligible for Medicaid
6 services as part of a Medicaid buy-in established under s.
7 409.914(2) specifically designed to accommodate those persons
8 made eligible for such a buy-in by Title II of Pub. L. No.
9 106-170. Such buy-in shall include income-related premiums and
10 cost sharing.
11 Section 3. Subject to a specific appropriation, the
12 Agency for Health Care Administration is directed to seek a
13 federal grant, demonstration project, or waiver, as may be
14 authorized by the United States Department of Health and Human
15 Services, for purposes of establishing a Medicaid buy-in
16 program or other programs to assist individuals with
17 disabilities in gaining employment. The services to be
18 provided are those required to enable such individuals to gain
19 or keep employment. The grant, demonstration project, or
20 waiver shall be submitted to the Secretary of Health and Human
21 Services at such time, in such manner, and containing such
22 information as the secretary shall require, as authorized
23 under Title II of Pub. L. No. 106-170, the "Ticket to Work and
24 Work Incentives Act of 1999."
25 Section 4. This act shall take effect October 1, 2000.
