18         Section 1.  Subsection (44) of section 403.703, Florida

19  Statutes, is amended to read:

20         403.703  Definitions.--As used in this act, unless the

21  context clearly indicates otherwise, the term:

22         (44)  "Source separated" means the recovered materials

23  are separated from solid waste where the recovered materials

24  and solid waste are generated. The term does not require that

25  various types of recovered materials be separated from each

26  other and recognizes de minimis solid waste, in accordance

27  with industry standards and practices, may be included in the

28  recovered materials. Materials are not considered source

29  separated when two or more types of recovered materials are

30  deposited in combination with each other in a commercial

31  collection container located where the materials are generated

 1  and such materials contain more than 10 percent solid waste by

 2  volume or weight. For purposes of this subsection, the term

 3  "various types of recovered materials" means metals, paper,

 4  glass, plastic, textiles, and rubber.

 5         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2000.

11  remove from the title of the bill:  all of said lines

13  and insert in lieu thereof:

14         An act relating to resource recovery and management;

15  amending s. 403.703, F.S.; redefining the term "source

16  separated;" providing an effective date.
