17  and insert in lieu thereof:

18         (9)  The local district ombudsman councils are

19  authorized to call upon appropriate agencies of state

20  government for such professional assistance as may be needed

21  in the discharge of their duties. All state agencies shall

22  cooperate with the local district ombudsman councils in

23  providing requested information and agency representatives at

24  council meetings. The Department of Children and Family

25  Services shall continue to provide space and in-kind

26  administrative support for each district ombudsman council

27  staff within available resources until the Legislature

28  appropriates funds for office space and administrative

29  support.
