17         Section 1.  Section 626.852, Florida Statutes, is

18  amended to read:

19         626.852  Scope of this part.--

20         (1)  This part applies only to insurance adjusters as

21  defined in this part.

22         (2)  Unless otherwise required by context, the term

23  "adjusters" as used in this part applies to all licensees

24  defined as any type of adjuster.

25         (3)  This part does not apply as to life insurance or

26  annuity contracts.

27         (4)  This part does not apply to third-party

28  administrators or a person employed by a third-party

29  administrator holding a certificate of authority pursuant to

30  ss. 626.88-626.894.

31         (5)  This part does not apply to any employee or agent

 1  of a governmental entity providing services in support of any

 2  self-insurance program adopted by such governmental entity.

 3         Section 2.  Subsection (8) is added to section

 4  627.7295, Florida Statutes, to read:

 5         627.7295  Motor vehicle insurance contracts.--

 6         (8)  Subsection (7) of this section does not apply if

 7  an insured or family member has previously purchased and has

 8  in effect a policy of private passenger motor vehicle

 9  insurance and is purchasing additional coverage or adding

10  coverage for an additional vehicle, with such coverage being

11  written by the same insurer or a member of the same insurer

12  group.

13         Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2000.
