11  Senator Sullivan moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment 

14         On page 97, lines 6-13, delete those lines

15

16  and insert:

17         (2)  A university board of trustees shall consist of

18  nine members. The Governor shall appoint eight members of the

19  board of trustees, and the student body president of the

20  university shall serve ex officio as a voting member of the

21  board of trustees. Except for the boards of trustees of the

22  University of Florida, Florida State University, and Florida

23  Agricultural and Mechanical University, the majority of

24  members of a university board of trustees must reside within

25  the service area of the university.

26         (3)  Except for the student body president, trustees

27  shall be subject to confirmation by the Senate in regular

28  session.
