2 An act relating to the City of Deerfield Beach,
3 Broward County; extending and enlarging the
4 corporate limits of the City of Deerfield Beach
5 to include specified unincorporated lands
6 within said corporate limits; providing an
7 effective date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. The present corporate limits of the City of
12 Deerfield Beach, Broward County, Florida, are hereby extended
13 and enlarged so as to include, in addition to the territory
14 presently within its corporate limits, the Northerly 20 feet
15 of the Westerly 30 feet of the Easterly 80 feet of the
16 Southeast one-quarter (SE. 1/4) of Section 11, Township 48
17 South, Range 42 East, as described in that certain Public
18 Purpose Quitclaim Deed as recorded in Official Records Book
19 10750, Page 188, of the Public Records of Broward County,
20 Florida.

22 The bearings shown hereon are based on an
23 assumed meridian. The North line of Section
24 11, Township 48 South, Range 42 East bears
25 South 88°22'20" West.

27 Containing 0.1 acres, more or less.

29 Section 2. All public roads and the public
30 rights-of-way associated therewith, lying within the limits of
31 the lands subject to annexation herein, as described in

1 section 1, are transferred from Broward County jurisdiction to
2 the jurisdiction of the annexing municipality, except any
3 county collector roads.
4 Section 3. On the effective date of this act, the City
5 of Deerfield Beach shall be responsible for and embodied with
6 all municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes,
7 over territory hereby annexed.
8 Section 4. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed
9 to affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts,
10 whether the same be between Broward County and a third party
11 or between nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in
12 effect prior to the effective date of annexation.
13 Section 5. This act shall take effect September 15,
14 2000.
