1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the City of Deerfield Beach,
3 Broward County; extending and enlarging the
4 corporate limits of the City of Deerfield Beach
5 to include specified unincorporated lands
6 within said corporate limits; providing an
7 effective date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. The present corporate limits of the City of
12 Deerfield Beach, Broward County, Florida, are hereby extended
13 and enlarged so as to include, in addition to the territory
14 presently within its corporate limits, that parcel of land
15 known as Parcel I as described in that Warranty Deed recorded
16 in Official Record Book 16285, Page 241 of the Public Records
17 of Broward County, Florida and described as follows:

19 All that part of Parcel "A", "J.F.C. Plat", as
20 recorded in Plat Book 133, Page 35 of the
21 Public Records of Broward County, Florida,
22 described as follows:

24 Commence at the Northwest corner of said Parcel
25 "A";

27 thence South 00°35'19" East along the West line
28 of said Parcel "A", 283.01 feet;
29
30 thence North 89°48'04" East parallel with the
31 South line of the lands platted as the said

1 "J.F.C. Plat", 205.02 feet to the point of
2 beginning of the description herein described;

4 thence continue North 89°48'04" East, 180.00
5 feet;
6
7 thence North 00°35'19" West, parallel with the
8 West line of said Parcel "A", 200.00 feet;
9
10 thence South 89°48'04" West, 180.00 feet;
11
12 thence South 00°35'19" East, 200.00 feet to the
13 point of beginning.

15 Containing 36,000 square feet, more or less.

17 Section 2. All public roads and the public
18 rights-of-way associated therewith, lying within the limits of
19 the lands subject to annexation herein, as described in
20 section 1, are transferred from Broward County jurisdiction to
21 the jurisdiction of the annexing municipality, except any
22 county collector roads.
23 Section 3. On the effective date of this act, the City
24 of Deerfield Beach shall be responsible for and embodied with
25 all municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes,
26 over territory hereby annexed.
27 Section 4. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed
28 to affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts,
29 whether the same be between Broward County and a third party
30 or between nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in
31 effect prior to the effective date of annexation.

1 Section 5. This act shall take effect September 15,
